Junior squash coaching
The junior squash programme is headed up by Rose Bamber (Squash Head Coach) with assistance from Daryl Williams and Harry Anderson.
The programme has grown in numbers over the last few years with a number of player achievements.
We run a development program in term-time for young squash players between 6 & 18 years old. The primary focus is on developing squash skills and gameplay, with social interaction with children of similar age and ability. Whether your child is a beginner, intermediate or advanced player, we have group activities that they could join.
We make use of the ‘Off the Wall’ Squash Progress Awards to help children learn squash skills. There are 8 progress levels to work towards and children are rewarded with certificates. We also offer the Redland Green junior boxes which players can join once they feel ready for competitive play. Here they practice scoring and marking matches and learning about lets and strokes.
We design our group lessons around the abilities and needs of the players and ensure a fun and relaxed environment with a clear focus on progression each week:
Monday 4.30-5.30pm –Beginners Levels 1- 3 (6-11 years)
Monday 5.30-6.30pm –Intermediate Level 3-4 (11-14 years)
Tuesday 4.30-5.30pm –Advanced + Levels 6-8
Tuesday 5.30-6.30pm –Beginners & Intermediates Levels 4-5 (11-14 years)
Wednesday 4.30-5.30pm –Intermediate Levels 4-5 (11-15 years)
Wednesday 5.30-6.30pm –Advanced Levels 4-5 (6-12 years)
Thursday 4.30-5.30pm –Advanced Levels 6-8 (14-17 years)
Thursday 5.30-6.30pm –Advanced Levels 5-6 (15-17 years)
Saturday 9-10am –Beginners Levels 1-3 (6-11 years)
Saturday 10-11am –Intermediate Levels 3- 4 (8-13 years)
Saturday 11am-12pm –Advanced Levels 4-5 (11-17 years)
Saturday 12-1pm –Advanced Levels 6-8 (13-17 years)
