Racketball at Redland

At Redland Green, we have a growing racketball community who play in regular box games.

Racketball is one of the UK’s fastest growing sports and is played on a regular squash court. It is similar to squash albeit a shorter racket and a larger ball are used.

The ball is not only bigger, it is more bouncy and does not need warming up. It also moves slower which gives the opponent more time to react and get to the ball. This results in longer rallies which give you a great cardio workout. The shorter racket helps with hand eye coordination, making the ball easier to strike. Therefore, racketball is easier to pick up than many other sports like squash or tennis. Racketball is said to be, “Easy to learn yet difficult to master”, which is one of the key factors in the sport’s recent growth.

We have regular weekly lunchtime social session on a Tuesday from 12:45pm-2.30pm.
